Profile Information

Survivor Status:
Spouse, Parent, Sibling, Child of a Survivor (includes Adult Children of Survivors), Friend of a Survivor, Lost a Relative to cancer
About Me:
The first half of my life has been a pretty cool ride. I've started two pro soccer teams, built and sold a lawn and garden products company, had a few crash and burns and more than a few successes. I served my country honorably for four years in the U.S. Air Force, played for the Air Force Soccer Team, can still remember what it was like to dunk a basketball before my Achilles tendon blew up (it was loud, like a gunshot!), had my music played on the radio and was awarded a Hollywood FAME Award for National Community Service in 2007. Most of all, I've learned that status, money, power and fame are not the things that make a person's life complete.

For the past nine years, I've run Eclipse Sports & Entertainment, LLC, a firm I created to save the world -- and golf for free. So far, we've done a pretty good job, raising more than $4.5 million for charity and counting, helping celebrities learn how to use their celebrity capital in great ways (like helping Carmelo Anthony get involved with violence prevention programs in Baltimore) and opening the eyes of entrepreneurs and corporate execs as to how they can really make a difference in their communities. Boy, there's still a LOT of work to be done in that area. Eclipse also trains people to become golf event consultants. They basically learn how to do what I did for many years quite successfully. It's kind of like cloning, but without all the gooey mess.

I write a celebrity golf column called "On the Tee with A.J. Ali." You can find it in magazines, newspapers and my blog (which I really do need to do a better job of keeping up to date). The On the Tee program is growing and changing in '09. I'm dedicating it to fighting cancer and I'll have many interviews with celebs about what they are doing to help fight cancer. My celebrity friends and I are going to be inviting people to join us at some of the finest golf clubs to play golf and raise funds. The goal: raise $100,000 in '09 for the fight against cancer!

Let's see, what else? Well, I just finished co-authoring a book titled "The True Champion's 30-Day Challenge." It's a Christ-centered sports devotional. For every copy you buy at retail, I'll give one away to someone that can't afford to purchase one. It'll change your life in more ways than one -- you'll be blessed and you'll be a blessing to someone else!

I’ve saved the best for last. My wife Jane and I run a nonprofit called Marathon of Miracles. It's a Christian cancer outreach and wellness organization offering hope for the mind, body and spirit. We are doing wellness education, inspirational programs, benevolence, prayer and more. Part of the "more" is that we hope to establish cancer wellness gardens in cities throughout the world and develop a cancer wellness center in Malibu where best practices in cancer wellness can be developed, documented and shared with the world. Aren't you tired of people around you getting sick with cancer? We are too! Here's a hint. If we can find ways to stop poisoning our bodies, minds and our planet with toxic waste (yes, it comes in many forms from sludge to poisoned waters to steroid-pumped chickens to bad air to food dyes to negative thinking to God knows what else!), we'll find that the cure for cancer is not in medieval treatments like chemo and radiation, but in the desire to eradicate it by not getting it in the first place! For us to find the cure, we first have to find ourselves. That means living lives that are less selfish (Dear smokers: Stop! You're killing people.), more meaningful and more respectful of our environment and more caring for each other. Wow, what a concept. The western sickcare industry won't talk about that though because they can't make as much money off of wellness. They make more money when we get sick.

There's a lot more to my story, just like I'm sure there's a lot to yours. Let's talk about it, you, life, golf (love it!) and the meaning in life. My second half is going to be one heck of a ride!
Inspirational Quote:
God bless, be your best and have a great day!

Aromatherapy in action - Peppermint aroma improves memory and concentration

by: Elizabeth Walling

(NaturalNews) Peppermint isn't just for toothpaste and candy canes: research shows the aroma of peppermint is a natural remedy for boosting memory, focus and concentration. Whether in the form of essential oil, fresh mint leaves, or brewed tea, the refreshing scent of peppermint may be just what you need to perk up your mind.

One 2006 study in the United Kingdom measured the effect of peppermint aroma on cognitive performance. Researchers…

Watch Out For GMO's In Foods -- Even In Health Food Stores

This from natural news:  Beware of so-called "natural" foods that claim to be vegetarian or "all natural." If they're made with corn, soy or canola and they're not ORGANIC, then they are almost certainly made with GMOs.

Many of these "natural" foods are sold at apparently healthy stores. But that doesn't mean they don't contain GMOs! The shelves contain a plethora of products with genetically engineered food ingredients, so read the labels and buy USDA organic, which is reliably… Continue

My Favorites From Natural Products Expo East - Penta Water

Penta Water is in my top two (along with Fiji).  I'm glad to see that they have lowered their pricing, which I believe had put it out of reach for many people.  It's still hard to find, but it's worth the effort. Penta is pure water that has no additives, sweeteners, chemicals or anything else.  It tastes pure,…

Cancer breakthrough: scientists discover harmless bacteria in soil kills cancer tumors

Monday, September 05, 2011 by: S. L. Baker, features writer

(NaturalNews) Cancer remains one of the most feared diseases on the planet -- and cancer patients being treated by mainstream medicine are usually bombarded with radiation and subjected to toxic chemotherapy that destroys healthy cells and weakens the body while trying to kill tumors.

Thankfully, as NaturalNews readers are aware, a growing body of research is revealing that many natural…

Where and What will the Mixer be? I'm actually host my first cupcake tasting next Sunday and I my mother is going to be the first honoree for the group. If you and your wife can make that would be great! Were also going to Swag Bags for Breast Cancer on sale for a small fee of $2, to kick off the initiative.

Hi AJ! I will post more on my group profile that I will create on this site. Her/our story as a family needs to be shared. This is just the platform I needed and confirmation that I have to bring attention the more mature cancer warriors.

Hi AJ,

I am very sorry to tell you that God called Kristen home on Holy Thursday. It is very tragic - she wanted to live so bad and was only 28 - would have celebrated her 2nd wedding anniversary at the end of May.  Thanks for all your prayers and support.  They have started a foundation and she is the co-founder. The name is Options for Life Foundation - link is www.oflf.org

God Bless,  Mara+

Thank you AJ - Kristen really needs a miracle and we serve a miracle working God. I believe "where there's life, there's hope".  Kris has suffered so much and she is really "fighting for her life" -  I pray her miraculous recovery will be used by the Lord to touch others.

God Bless you and those you love.

Hi AJ

Please pray a miracle for Kristen Fay (a member) at 11 am PST today.  She is in a drug induced como because both kidneys filed.  I emailed Jane also.  There is a request for corporate prayer circulating as I write this.  I am her Godmother and reconnected with her thru your website.  Thanks and God Bless.  Mara Leary

A.J, I hope you are well friend! I was talking to someone who bumped into you, and they mentioned that you may have an interest in community gardens. I would love to hear your thoughts sometime! This is what we are working on right now: growannapolis.org.

“AJ, I'm buying the first 100 for my ministry with the team. This is an excellent resource -- clear, applicable, well written! You and Vera have written one of the most significant and useful devotionals I've seen in a long time. Ravens players and coaches will love this tool for training camp! I'm excited to see it go to print and I'm honored to be a friend of one of the co-authors, a true champion indeed.”
