- About Me:
- I'm a x2 cancer survivor, who have struggled through both cancer, but will not allow it to take control of my life. My cancers were an "Awakening" for me. I came to realize with my survivor, I was about to face a new beginning, new hope, do and see more with a whole new prospective on life. I knew that I would have to work through the strength that I will develop each time I think of the gift of life my Savior gave to me. Yes, I live with a few complications, but "I'm living". Through my journey, I had an unexplain episode, such as a miracle, something I will never understand, but it happen. I turn that experience into a poem and called it "Peace". I took that poem, along with many others I had written during my Breast cancer period and placed them into book form. I was blessed enough to have a book of poems published called "True Simple Poems of Life, Faith and Survival"; published in October 2009/Breast Cancer month. I then went on and wrote an inspirational childrens' book, called "If Only I Could fly, said Mattie-bee", which was recently published and I'm working on my third book. I never anticipated becoming a writer, I just became one. I truly believe when you survive a horrific tragedy or a horrible disease, such as cancer, it's for a reason, "you have a purpos" and I want to live to find out exactly what that is for me.
With the words and phrases of each one of my poems, as well as my inspirational children's book, I wish to make a positive impact on someone who's ill or otherwise hurting, where they can proceed life in a whole new way. I'm a true example that you can survive cancer, not once, but twice, if you get to it in time, have faith and allow it to direct your path.
