Hi Y'all,I'm writing a piece for Spry Magazine tentatively entitled: "Five Things NOT to Say to Someone Who Has Cancer."The classic example is: "Well, they say if you're gonna get a cancer, that's the one you want." To which I reply: "Exactly. And if you're gonna be hit by a bus, make sure it's a Greyhound. I heard they have very soft under carriages!" ;-)I'd love to hear some funny things you've heard from people that made you scratch your head and think, "What the hell were they thinking…See More
I was originally diagnosed in 2000 with Stage IV Hodgkin's Lymphoma. With a 90% "cure rate" you'd think that would have been the end of that. Yeah....no. I have had Hodgkin's now 4 times in the course of 9 years, each time reoccuring as Stage IV.
I have learned many lessons over my cancer career. And I have been asked by soooo many along the way to share my optimism and Positive Mental Attitude. Well, I began to realize that the amount of advice I could give someone newly diagnosed was directly related to how much time I got to interact with them. I always felt like I wanted to be able to do more for people. So I wrote a book. That way everyone could read my story of inspiration, at their own pace, and receive all the advice I had to give. It's entitled, This Time's a Charm; Lessons of a Four-Time Cancer Survivor.
If you know someone who's been diagnosed with cancer, or a loved-one of someone who has, please consider recommending my book. I have been there, 4 times. My book can and will help them through this time. Just go to www.thistimesacharm.com
Also, when you're done enjoying the book, could you please return to Amazon to write up a glowing review for it? It helps convince fellow cancer patients that find my book that it's a valuable investment of their hard earned money. Things are tight for everyone these days, but the lessons I've put in my book will more than pay for themselves, every day, for the rest of the reader's life.
And finally, for each sale of my book I'll be donating a portion of the proceeds to www.stupidcancer.com, otherwise known as the "I'm Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation."
Thanks very much for your support and I look forward to your feedback. I guarantee, you're gonna be shocked, slightly disturbed and highly motivated by This Time's a Charm. When you're done with the book, you will have "walked a mile in my shoes" and be forever changed because of it.
BTW, please send me a friend request. I am always looking to add new friends to my cancer network!
